Mini ColorChecker

The ColorChecker has been a standard for color photography for over 25 years. The standard size is often too large for many photographers to carry in their photo bags and it is much too big for use in close-up situations. To solve this problem X-Rite produced the mini ColorChecker. Small enough to fit in your pocket, 2.25 x 3.25 inches, about the size of a business card, the Mini ColorChecker easily fits in a camera bag or your pocket, so there is no excuse to be without one.

I carry a Mini ColorChecker, along with a Digital Gray Card™ (a DGC-100) along on every photo shoot. The Digital Gray Card™ I use to set the neutral balance on my camera, then I shoot the Mini ColorChecker when I want to make a color management profile for the shooting conditions. This one-two punch helps me to produce very color accurate images.
